Teacher Training Opportunities at Priestlands School

Priestlands School is a popular provider and placement for teacher training.  We offer School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) placements through both the ETC Teaching School Alliance and the Bournemouth, Poole & Dorset teacher training partnership (we are strategic partners for both), as well as PGCE placements through Southampton University.  This year we are hosting trainee teachers in Maths, Science, English, Music, History, DT, PE and Art.  In addition to this we are able to offer other subjects as well.  We are also able to consider or recommend both salaried and unsalaried placements depending on your individual circumstances.  We are more than happy to discuss your personal requirements and the best route for you into teaching.

Information on these routes into teaching can be found at:

Recruitment for our teacher training placements are overseen by us and either the Wildern Partnership SCITT or the Bournemouth Poole & Dorset training partnership which is based in Christchurch. Further details of the recruitment process can be found via their websites at: or https//

Applicants wishing to visit Priestlands School can do so through the School Experience Programme (SEP).  Alternatively, you may contact us directly via email to

If you are looking to embark on initial teacher training (ITT), You can click here to register with the School Experience Programme... and via the “Get into Teaching” Website.

School Experience Days are designed to offer potential trainees the opportunity to experience a large school in action, gaining an insight into what happens in the classroom and to reintroduce you to the school environment.  You will observe subject specific lessons and to ensure a focus for the observation you will be asked to record your thoughts and reflections.  The day will end with a group feedback session.

Priestlands School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.  This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975 and you will be required to declare whether you have any criminal convictions.  Priestlands School is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
