Pupil Premium
At Priestlands School, we are committed to ensuring that every student feels supported, valued and able to thrive. The Pupil Premium is additional government funding designed to help schools provide enhanced support for students who may face barriers to learning.
This funding is allocated to students who:
- Have been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last six years (FSM Ever 6)
- Are currently or have previously been looked after by the local authority
- Have parents who are currently serving in the Armed Forces
We use this funding thoughtfully and carefully to ensure that all eligible students have the opportunities, encouragement and resources they need to succeed both academically and personally.
Our Commitment
At Priestlands, we see Pupil Premium not simply as funding, but as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. We focus on:
-
Raising achievement and supporting strong academic progress
-
Providing targeted support and intervention where needed
-
Enriching students’ wider school experience
-
Supporting wellbeing and confidence
-
Reducing any gaps in attainment
We regularly review the impact of our provision to ensure that the strategies we use are effective and responsive to students’ needs. The progress and attainment of students supported by Pupil Premium funding is included in national school performance measures, and Ofsted inspections consider how well schools support disadvantaged students.
Most importantly, we remain fully committed to ensuring that every young person at Priestlands has the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
